Soon, love, soon
Soon, love, soon
There'll be a fire burning in the temple of our peace
(Soon love soon)
There'll be the soaring voice for a silent plea
(Soon love soon)
We will hold a broken circle and begin to pray
(Soon love soon)
We will find a black and white in the grey
And we will be as one god
And we will be as one people
And we will be as one god
And we will be as one people
(Soon love soon)
We will find illumination in unnatural light
(Soon love soon)
You will travel a thousand miles without leaving my sight
(Soon love soon)
We will find we never knew hatred ran so deep
(Soon love soon)
Such a wide, wide chasm of faith to leap
But we will be as one god
And we will be as one people
And we will be as one god
And we will be as one people
Yes we will be as one god
And we will be as one people
(Soon love soon)
There'll be an evolution of the human soul
(Soon love soon)
We will know that to be a part is to be truly whole
(Soon love soon)
We will know the pattern of centuries' rise and fall
(Soon love soon)
We will know that the fate of one is the fate of all
And we will be as one god
And we will be as one people

This song strikes me very much as an anthem for Harmonia. It has a soaring, chant-like quality to it that gives it a strongly religious feel, but that's really only the tip of the reason. The chorus, obviously, carries a religious message, and one that is specifically very Harmonian in feel: "and we will be as one god; and we will be as one people". My perspective on Harmonia is that its goals and principles have been, in part, similar to those of the first Emperor of China; to abolish conflict by uniting all nations as "one people", even if in the process of bringing all under the Emperor's banner much blood is shed. Harmonia also believes firmly in the divine guidance of the Runes, represented by "one god".
Moreover, this song strikes me as being applicable to the idea of change in Harmonia. The first "true" line of this song clearly echoes Harmonia ("in the temple of our peace"), but makes most sense if we consider that the nation is to put aside its warlike ways and strive for peace. "We will hold a broken circle and begin to pray" strongly puts me in mind of the Circle Rune; will we break the hold the Circle has over us and move forward, while still looking to the Runes (praying) for guidance? Or is Lord Hikusaak, the bearer of the Rune, the broken one whom we must hold? "Black and white in the grey" clearly suggests looking for moral rightness; a suggestion that a clear path along which to move forward might be found, and past misdeeds will be set aside as wrong and "black".
"Illumination in unnatural light" makes me think of the Runes; Harmonia finds enlightenment (illumination) in magic ("unnatural" light). The last two lines of this verse suggest the difficulty found in uniting the nations under a banner of peace; hatred runs so deep, and faiths are different, making countries reluctant to accept alliances. It could also be speaking of the hatred Harmonia has realised runs so deep in itself.
The last verse really strikes me as being about Harmonia accepting change in itself. "There'll be an evolution of the human soul" could be talking about the rediscovery of compassion and morality in people, or it could speak to something the Runes wish to initiate; the reason Harmonia gathers them. "We will know that to be a part" of an alliance of nations will be to make the world truly whole. We will observe history, know the pattern of centuries and learn from their mistakes; and we will know that when we wound one person, we perpetrate a crime unto the world.
Last but not least, it's also a very beautiful song, like much of Vienna Teng's work, and I do recommend listening to it, whether or not you find the words as appropriate for your Harmonia as I find them for mine.
